JA New York Spring Show Boasts Increased Attendance
Co-Location with MJSA and Lueur and March Dates Contributing Factors to Success
New York, NY—After an extremely strong opening day on Sunday, the JA New York Spring show continued to maintain high-attendance momentum throughout the three day show. The co-location with MJSA and Lueur, a successful hosted buyer program, as well as the newly established March dates, were all contributing factors to the significantly busy show floor.
“We are extremely pleased with the level of traffic at the show,” noted Drew Lawsky, Group Show Director. “Both our exhibitors and our retailers were consistently happy, and it was very rewarding to see business being done all the way up to the last few minutes of the last day!”
The hosted and VIP buyer program included hotel accommodations, transportation to and from the Javits Center, breakfast and lunch, and amenities throughout the show. It was extremely well received by long-time attendees, as well as retailers who haven’t attended JA New York for several years.
Buyers from across the country consistently raved about the overall look and feel of the show, “It feels good to be back,” enthused Eleanor Pitts of Eleanor Pitts Jewelry in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. “We have been so pleasantly surprised! The show treated us like royalty and that’s been nice, and everything looks so beautiful!”
Mimicking that sentiment was Norma Mann of Gary Mann Jewelers in Manayunk, Pennsylvania, “We are enjoying the show immensely. We found it to be a very professional and enjoyable show, it’s very palatable, there are places to relax; it feels like a step up from the past. We are doing a lot of business, we bought a lot more than we’d planned to. There is a nice representation of vendors and we’re finding some very exciting things!”
“We loved the show! We’re so glad we came,” said Sergio Acle of Sergio’s Jewelers in Baltimore, Maryland. “We found new vendors, and started new business with a number of vendors we haven’t worked with in a long time.”
Brands, both new and returning, certainly felt the benefit of the increased attendance, “There’s been great foot traffic,” noted designer Erica Molinari. “I’ve made contact with new buyers who want to sell my collection who I wouldn’t have seen normally.”
First time exhibitor, designer Angela George said, “It’s been great, we were really busy and we made a lot of great connections!”
