Inspired by architectural forms, nature and folklore, Isabel Alexander’s collection of jewelry is elegant in its simplicity. Passionate about style and beauty, the collection is intended for women of all lifestyles and sensibilities who want to express their individuality through adornment. Her work is both wearable and timeless, uniquely re-imagining classic silhouettes through a fresh lens. Geometric lines juxtaposed with the luster of precious metal creates a bold effect, while subtle combinations in textures complemented by colored gemstone details evoke a sense of grace in her work.
Born in Moldova, a region celebrated for exquisite wine and hard-working people, Isabel spent her teen years in Romania before moving to the states in the early aughts. Originally trained in the legal field, she launched her jewelry collection in 2020. Since launching, she has introduced several new lines. Speak Easy is inspired by the Gatsby era, while Luck & Initiative is a nod to dice and features stylized abstraction of the numbers one through six. Capsule pays homage to the ancient craftsmanship and tradition, and her New Vintage collection is rooted in Moldovan embroidery and folk traditions.
In 2022, Isabel launched her Golden Dreams and Silver Dreams collections, in which she first incorporated colored gemstones and sterling silver into her repertoire. These two collections take a deeper dive into her roots and are an ode to playfulness and the inner child inside all of us. They are also a reflection of Isabel’s desire to help women celebrate beauty and life following the pandemic. Her work is evocative of her memories spent traveling the world, Parisienne days lazily people watching while sipping coffee, or discovering artesian boutiques and roaming the aisles of bookstores. She is also deeply influenced by the passion she feels visiting galleries and museums, and she infuses these emotions into her designs.
Isabel Alexander joins us from the Washington, D.C. area, where each of her pieces are hand-crafted by expert artisans. She joins us as an exhibitor in our JA New York Summer show New Designer Gallery (NDG).
