“Repetition is Reputation” – Andy Warhol
Key Objectives
- Have a social media strategy
- Post consistently and frequently
- Connect with followers and engage
Keep in mind what works for you and stick to it. Developing a social media strategy of what time you will post –– 9 AM, 12 PM and 3 PM –– being the best times, and choosing which platforms to use and researching them will help greatly. If you were able to gain significant outreach from a post, don’t be afraid to post that same picture 6 weeks later with a different header. Creating a persona can also be paramount to gaining traction in the social media world. Figuring out what your voice is and creating a “lifestyle” you are able to keep up with is key.
- Instagram: Use natural lighting, overhead lighting can be abrasive so try to take pictures by a window. People also tend to respond well to pictures of dogs, fine dining, coffee, and flowers placing jewelry in front of any of them will garner some attention. Creating your own hashtag is a great way to create a personal vision board on Instagram.
- Facebook: Facebook has the highest demographic for new and abundant users 45 to 55. It tends to lead the way in measurable foot traffic to website. They tend to maintain very loyal followers. **Using hyperlinks and boosts are a must.
- Pinterest: Find a local influencer to drive traffic.
- LinkedIn: Add your personal and business account, it’s a great tool for connecting.
In summation, have a clear understanding of what your business is and what works best for you. Remain consistent–posting 3 times daily on all platforms is optimal. Engage with customers. Allow them to see who YOU are. And remember, be patient and stay up-to-date with the ever-changing tech world! #HappyLiking. The education program continues throughout today and tomorrow.
