JA New York: How would you describe your brand to someone who is not familiar with it? Give us your “elevator pitch!”

Leslie Kumar Posmentier: NYLA STAR is a sophisticated costume jewelry collection that appeals to both fine and costume jewelry enthusiasts. It’s delicate and simple yet elegant and flattering. Our quality is exceptional and best of all the entire collection retails for under $300!

JA New York: Do you have a particular wearer In mind when you are designing? 

LKP: Ladies who lunch

JA New York: What is your biggest source of inspiration?

LKP: The market’s demand helps sway my design direction. I pay attention to what my customers are asking for. The styles that have worked well in previous collections are the ones that I modify and build upon.

JA New York: What is the first thing you do when waking up?

LKP: Drink a few cups of coffee and scroll the NY Post app

JA New York: What is the last thing you do?

LKP: Kiss my husband good night

JA New York: Who was your favorite teacher (in school or in life)?

LKP: My two year old daughter

JA New York: What is your guilty pleasure?

LKP: Bad food, good wine and Netflix.
