JA New York: How long have you been a jewelry designer?
Rachael Clark for Rachael Sarc: Most of my life! I designed and made my first ring from silver and turquoise when I was 15.
JA New York: What inspires your designs?
RC: The gemstones themselves. I also find architecture to be very inspirational.
JA New York: What are you most looking forward to about exhibiting in the New Designer Gallery?
RC: Being part of a group of designers who are as passionate about their craft as I am.
JA New York: What are you most nervous about (if anything)?
RC: The spotlight! I am much more comfortable at my workbench.
JA New York: If a song played every time you walked into a room, what would it be?
RC: “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’Ole
JA New York: If you were forced to get a tattoo, what would it be and where?
RC: I already have a tattoo. It’s an outline of a dove on my ankle, a symbol of my faith.
