Located in a town made famous for its Pizza (thanks to Julia Roberts!), this quaint, Mystic, CT village shop boasts a beach-y vibe but is serious about the quality of its customer service. Always quick with a quip, Norman dreams of the day Julia Roberts makes her triumphant return and walks into his shop, while also remaining nostalgic about a 2-month road trip he made over four decades ago–he still has all of the gas receipts!

Norman Braverman: I publish on Facebook but not often enough, I very rarely use Instagram

NB: I guess black onyx, although I sell more Ethiopian opal and moonstones
JA New York: What’s your retail mantra?
NB: I’m not sure where you are looking for me to go here, but one of my favorite sales lines when customers say, “I’m just looking,” I like to say, “At your own risk!”
JA New York: Dream celebrity client?
NB: Julia Roberts, I’d like to get her back to Mystic, CT now that our shop is here…

NB: Easy listening on Pandora, oldies jazz and more

JA New York: Your most prized possession?
NB: All my gas receipts from 1974 travels across the U.S. visiting every state west of Ohio on a two month trip. We put 15,000 miles on a 1970 ford pinto 🙂 age 21!
