Without a doubt, New York City during the holidays is among the most magical places on earth! Restaurants and bars are packed with holiday revelers, store windows are tricked out with incredible and unique displays, the tree in Rockefeller Center always inspires awe, and for the first time, this year New York City became home to the world’s largest Menorah! With all of the lights and decorations and general undercurrent of excitement, even during a visit to Midtown amidst throngs of tourists, it’s difficult to avoid truly getting into the spirit!
As I write this, thousands of tourists (any New Yorker will tell you, it’s only tourists) are already gathering in Times Square to watch the ball drop and bring in a new decade. While the major holidays are all behind us, the opportunities to celebrate this amazing city continue to abound. In winter’s most bitingly cold temperatures, staying warm inside of one of New York’s many amazing museums (we’re especially excited to check out the “new” MoMa!), galleries and yes, department stores, is always a great way to keep the holiday spirit flowing!
